Like many people, we were frustrated with the constant, low-level anxiety of tracking recurring payments. We knew that subscription services are designed to be forgotten, leading to wasted money and a loss of control. The existing “solutions” required connecting bank accounts—a major privacy concern—and had alerts that were easy to miss. We knew there had to be a better way.

Build It From Scratch

Instead of waiting for a solution, we decided to build one. As product creators, we embraced the entire journey: from initial concept and user-journey mapping, to designing the UI/UX, to building the application itself. SubHound was born not as a client project, but as our own answer to a real-world problem.

 

  1. A Privacy-First Philosophy. We made a core decision early on: no bank account linking. This commitment to user privacy became the foundation of the entire product.

  2. Engineering for “Aha!” Moments. We obsessed over the user experience, designing a simple, clean dashboard and a multi-channel alert system (SMS, WhatsApp, Email) that was impossible to ignore.

  3. Putting Our Beliefs to the Test. When it came time to market our own SaaS product, we put our core professional belief on the line: that clear, compelling video is the single best way to explain a product and build trust. We created the entire video strategy for SubHound ourselves.
